Skills on my resume

So I was looking at my resume the other day and decided that there was a lot of skills that I could add. I, in my usual style, have made a list.

1) I'm an expert at walking into inanimate objects - walls, doors, plants, vehicles, desks. Even on stage, while acting in a play, I walk into things. That is true skill.

2) ACTING! Not to be confused with the movie and stage variety. I can act interested in things that would put a kid with ADHD to sleep! This is a strong skill for me.

3) Reading code - Not Morse or anything, but I have become an expert at reading text with typos. For example - Ti would tkae a presno a whileo t redat his but I can read it at normal speed. This is a useful skill to have I'm assuming.

There are more skills which escape my mind, but I will add them as and when I remember.

Fangirling!

Most people who know me know I'm a crazy fangirl. This means I'll squeal and get excited when something fun happens. And talk about them a lot. For example I'm so so so excited that Paget Brewster joined Twitter!!! I love her work and think she is such a fun person! If you want to get to know her a little better, follow her or see the Kevin Pollack interviews! They are on you tube in 2 parts. It's a little more then an hour and she talks about hosting a talk show that aired at 1:30am, bar tending, being a photographer, how she started off acting, her band and SO much more! (See what I mean about being a fangirl?)

Also.... I GOT TICKETS TO SEE KATE WALSH!!!! It's really happening! The play is called Dusk Rings a Bell and is in the Atlantic stage 2 theatre in NYC. It runs from may 19th (previews) till June 20th. You can get tickets at www.ticketcentral.com It's a small theatre with 99 seats, so hurry up and book your tickets!

This all happened last night and my mum leaving for SF so yeah.. I'm excited. Oh oh oh, Julia is mostly going to be here next weekend!!! That is so freaking cool! I still can't believe Jasmin was here. It's all so surreal! I'm meeting so many Walshies and we share fandoms which is super cool.

Now that I have blogged about this phenomenon that puzzles many of my "real life" friends, I hope somethings are clearer. Also, I take comfort that there are other fangirls out there whom I'm meeting so I know I'm not alone! :D

Superstitions

This morning, I found myself frantically looking for a person I could bump into so that I could pass my "sorrow" on and have a good day. I did find a person, and as a result of passing on my sorrow, my boss isn't in today. It's always a good day when your boss isn't in, unless he is extremely good looking, or you need something from him/her.

Anyway, how did I get this "sorrow" you wonder? Well, how many of you believe in that childhood superstition about ravens? "One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, four for a boy (depending on how old you are)" I totally believe in this and I saw a raven eating a dead rat in the morning, just as I stepped out of the house to go to work.

I decided to make a list of superstitions that I believe in and that some friends and people I know believe.

1) The Raven thing - The way to make yourself immune to the curse (?) is to have your index and your middle fingers crossed. This morning, I didn't have my fingers crossed. You may also pass on your "sorrow" by touching another person and you must share your joy by getting another person to uncross your crossed fingers.

2) The mail van - If a person sees a mail van, s/he must make a wish and cross his/her fingers. S/he must not talk until s/he sees a black car. At this point, the fingers may be uncrossed and the wish will come true. I have no clue if this works, but for some reason I believe it!

3) Vishwa's superstition - If you wear new clothes on a Wednesday, you get new clothes.

4) Matthew Gray Gubler's superstition (which I have adopted) - It's good luck to wear two different socks instead of a pair.

If you guys have any you'd like to share, feel free to comment! :)

Fanfiction!

I was introduced to this world about a year ago. Since then I've become obsessed with it! I love the idea of a fan coming up with their own stories, interpretations of characters and situations! So far, I've written for Gilmore Girls, Private Practice and Parenthood. These are all dramas and I enjoy writing them.

I really would like to write a fic for Criminal Minds or Bones, but I have no clue! most of my stories have dealt with couples or family units that have already been created (Lorelai&Chris; Addison&Kevin; Addison&Sam and Sarah&Amber/Drew), so writing something that is so new and not created by the show's writer is going to be hard. Writing for Bones is going to be very, very hard because I need, at least, preliminary knowledge of forensic anthropology and I have NO clue. They have a pairing that I can work with though - Booth/Brennan.

Criminal Minds would be a challenge as they all function effectively as a team and at the end of the day, anyone can be paired with anyone. I don't know if I should write a ship (pairing) or just leave it as a team. A ship would be easier to write as the focus is on 2 characters instead of the usual 7! Plus you get to not really include characters you aren't too fond of (read Hotch.)

The other challenge is the case that they need to work on. I can take them on a vacation etc, but how absolutely boring! I need to find a good case for them to work on! I need to finally put my psychology degree into good use.

So it's kind of official. I will be writing a Criminal Minds, ship driven fic. Right now I'm also writing a Addisam fic and my first and only Parenthood fic. I hope i can do a good job to the CM fic. Wish me luck!

This post is like, to all the people who like, use the word like.

Must be read in an American accent. Preferably in the movie - cheerleader accent.

So like, the other day, I was like, texting a friend and he was like, making fun of me cause I use like a lot. I like, totally didn't get it cause like, I was kinda busy while texting back and like, it was only later, that I like, figured it out. It was like, kinda stupid that I didn't like, figure it out. But like, I think I had an excuse. Cause I was like, busy.

Then I like, stared being conscious of like, my usage of like. It was like, kinda bad so I decided to seriously like, stop using it. I tried for like, three days, till I like totally gave up, cause I was like, talking real slow. So like now, I just embrace my usage of like, though I still kinda like wince when I catch myself using, like, the word like.

And my friend, like wont let me forget, and I like, made the mistake of like, telling my mum, so like now, even she like, uses like to irritate me. Then she like, told my best friend, who like, also uses that word, but like, she figured out that it bugs me so like, she uses it too. This is like, sooo not done.

My dog has a boyfriend.

I was awoken by a whimpering at 5:17am. This whimpering came from the corner of my bed, where this white furry creature stood, asking to come up. I leaned over and yanked at her halter as she jumped up. I turned to my side and immediately fell back asleep. Three minutes later, I was pawed awake. I started to take a deep breath and I managed to inhale a lungful of dog breath before I quickly turned my face away. My dog was sitting opposite me and panting into my face. I knew this was it. This was how it started. The waking me up at ungodly hours to look for her boyfriend. Why the hell don't dogs have cell phones? They can text while I sleep!

I took my dog out at 5:45am and we were out till 6:45am. We saw her boyfriend, where they smelt each other adoringly and I yanked the leash as soon as I was uncomfortable with the areas they were smelling. till the shoulders ONLY! I hate being this person. God, my mum has had it easy. I've never put her through this.. Dating inappropriate men. I need a tattooed, biker boy now. It's only fair that my mum gets to experience what I'm going through.

I'm happy that my baby is happy, but does it have to be that filthy, awful, nippy, barky breed??? A mongrel would be perfectly fine. Even those rats that masquerade as dogs - what are they called? Chihuahuas. Those would be ok also. A pom just doesn't cut it! EEEEWWWWW!!!

In other news, my mum managed to explode eggs in the kitchen, we have lavender tasting cereal and there is never enough ice cream!

Oh Oh Oh!!! Highlight of my week! I got light up candy!!!! :D Going to see Clash of the titans. Hoping it doesn't give me a headache like Avatar did and isnt a waste of my money like avatar was. Yeah I didn't like the movie.

And another note: Someone said that they get annoyed when Asians sit on the train next to her and talk in their language. And another person agreed with her. I feel so sad there are such intolerant people in this world and I am sad to say that I knew them. How is it their business what language people who aren't associated to them talk? I know name calling wont change things, but it's so tempting.
